Locations
The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification tests. The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers a "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to find their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a schedule of exam times for classes that must have an exam by NYSED regulations. For evening classes exams, they are scheduled during the normal class time during the week of the exam.

Registration
The exam schedule is accessible online, and students are encouraged to look it up. However it is important to note that the final exam schedule could change at any time. Students should therefore check with their instructors for the correct date and time of their test. Students should also print out the official list to take with them to their exam.

Exam locations make every effort to accommodate those with special needs. The nature and severity of these requirements must be stated on the registration form and confirmed by an attestation from a doctor. Additionally the locations for the exam must respect confidentiality and be maintained.
If a student is scheduled to take three examinations scheduled for the same day it is recommended to contact their department or instructor to arrange an alternate exam. Although it is possible to take three tests in a single day, it can result in high stress levels and impact the quality of the test. The instructor may not be able to offer a makeup test on another day.
Before taking the test Students must prepare for the exam by studying the course material and practicing their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that measures the ability to read, speak, and write in German. The results of the examination are presented using a scale ranging from A1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded a Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has attained the level of language A1. This level corresponds to the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free of charge. Fees
If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to be awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you must pay the examination fee. This is in addition to the cost of the course.
